Hangin' here since the early Area 51 days of this wonderful community, for my love of the Latin language. I was born a linguist, but trained as a theoretical physicist, electronic engineer and computer scientist. I taught myself linguistics, helped with an audit grad course, and Latin entirely by myself.

I am a scientist in industry, working on ASR, NLU and human-machine speech dialogue—magic in the guise of a sufficiently advanced technology. The First Clarke's law is not to be taken lightly: Data science is properly data witchcraft until we scientifically understand its unreasonable effectiveness.
